Flair inventory badge updates, plus a new 'In Stock' badge

I'm happy to share with you the details of the latest release of my Shopify app Flair product badges.

This release is unofficially dubbed "the inventory badge update" release.

So what's included in this release?

There are two main changes included:

• The ability to show Low Stock and Out Of Stock badges based on if an item can sell out
• A new In Stock inventory badge type

These changes will put you in more control on how you can display badges based on inventory availability within your store.

Showing Low Stock and Out Of Stock badges based on if an item can sell out

You can now show Low Stock and Out of Stock Flair badges based on if an item can sell out.

Why would you want to do this?

Let me share an example from Flair customer Paul who wrote in with the following:

I have a few dropship items where stock is not managed through Shopify but by a third party. They get marked as few left - any way to avoid that?

On Shopify, an item will always be available for sale regardless of the available inventory if either of the following is true:

• The item's inventory policy is not managed by Shopify
• The item is set to "Allow customers to purchase this product when it's out of stock"

As Paul mentions, if an item can't sell out, you may not want to warn your customers that the stock is low.

However, I have also had requests to always show inventory badges regardless of if an item can sell out.

For example, perhaps an item with no stock that allows overselling just means they will take longer since you need to order them.

In this case, you might want to show a badge to convey increased shipping times such as ships in 7-10 days.

With this update, Flair puts you in control so you can decide what's best for your store.

A new In Stock inventory badge type

Flair already supported the ability to show badges for Low Stock or Out of Stock products. But until now, there was no way to show a badge for items that are In Stock.

This release completes Flair's inventory badge offering with the addition of a new In Stock badge.

Now you can display badges for any product based on if there is stock available.
